The Ostomy Support Association in Fort Worth
Posted over 8 years ago by Gwen Spector
The Ostomy Support Association in Fort Worth will host this month's meeting this Sunday, April 23rd, at 2 pm.
We will welcome special guest Brian Kelley, Stakeholder Manager at DFW International Airport, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Brian will discuss TSA security screening policies and procedures, specifically as it pertains to ostomates. He will also discuss special TSA services such as TSA Cares and TSA Pre-Check. These programs are designed to help passengers with disabilities and medical conditions prepare for the screening process.
The Summer travel season is almost upon us, and being informed and prepared makes traveling with an ostomy much less stressful. Time permitting, we will also discuss general tips for traveling with an ostomy. If we run short on time, we will continue this discussion at our May meeting.
Our meetings are held at the UNT Health Science Center at 3500 Camp Bowie in Fort Worth. It is at the NE corner of Camp Bowie and Montgomery St. Free parking is available in Lot 6, accessible from Clifton street (one block East of the intersection). Enter through the door under the flagpoles and proceed to the elevators. Take the elevators to the 5th Floor and exit to the left. We will be meeting in room 506, just past the tabled seating area.
Please do not miss out on this unique opportunity to speak directly to a TSA official regarding your ostomy related concerns! We hope to see you all Sunday :)
