Since 1989, TTUHSC Managed Care has served as a healthcare delivery service, providing high-quality, low cost healthcare to patients within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice system. The John Montford Unit in Lubbock, TX is an accredited regional medical and mental health facility, within the TTUHSC Managed Care system which specializes in providing access to a comprehensive array of medical, psychiatric, and ancillary healthcare services. Position Description
Employees in this classification are responsible for nursing care at a unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Implements unit objectives and administrative policies. This position is under clinical supervision of the Unit Director of Nurses.

Position Description
Employees in this classification are responsible for nursing care at a unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Implements unit objectives and administrative policies. This position is under clinical supervision of the Unit Director of Nurses.
Major/Essential Functions
- Coordinate daily staff assignments based on patient needs and unit priorities, ensuring all assigned tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Utilize the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to accurately document and communicate patient information, supporting informed clinical decision-making and continuity of care.
- Assist with or perform patient examinations and procedures, documenting all interventions in the EMR in a timely manner.
- Administer or assist in the administration and proper documentation of medications in accordance with established protocols.
- Develop, implement, and uphold nursing standards to ensure consistent high-quality patient care.
- Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, support both patients and clinical staff.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and records in compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
Registered Nurse Shift Differential:
- Day Shift Employees: Earn an extra $4.00 per hour for shifts worked on Saturday and Sunday.
- Night Shift Employees:
- Earn an extra $4.00 per hour for shifts worked Monday through Friday.
- Earn an extra $8.00 per hour for shifts worked on Saturday and Sunday.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Two years of nursing experience, with at least 6 months of that experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Possession of a valid, current RN license as approved by the Texas State Board of Examiners.
