Summary:
Assists the System Safety Officer (Senior Director of Safety) to develop, monitor, implement, and improve Children's by focusing on the Joint Commission environment of care standards and promoting a safe environment for Children's patients, visitors, and employees. Assists the System Safety Officer (Senior Director of Safety) in evaluating, inspecting, and surveying areas and activities to minimize potential risks. Provides site evaluations, training, and education to departments and services within the organization in achieving regulatory compliance. Collaborates with the System Safety Officer (Senior Director of Safety) in developing and implementing processes to comply with regulatory standards. Serves as a technical lead for related TJC and NFPA standards/regulations, along with state and local laws/regulations.

Responsibilities:
* Assists in monitoring compliance and training of the various CHST locations with a focus on TJC compliance.
* Evaluates care environment work spaces and operational practices and routinely inspects internal and external properties and equipment to ensure conformance with established environmental health and safety regulations, rules and requirements.
* Assists in creating and presenting employee training and education programs to all CHST departments and TMO audiences.
* Conducts crane safety assessments, interim life safety measures assessments, fire inspection scheduling, fire drill scheduling and other fire safety-related programs.
* Develops, implements, and manages environmental tour program for all accredited offices and hospitals.
* Manages the grounds inspection process for hospitals and on-site locations; participates in grounds inspection process for offsite locations.
* Participates as a member of the Physical Environment Committee (PEC), other various committees as assigned as well as attends meetings as required or delegated.
* Assists in the development and revisions of policies and procedures to define appropriate safety practices.
* Prepares and manages department metrics reporting.
* Manages and has department oversight of the PCRA safety aspects of renovation/construction projects at CHST locations (specifically excluding the NPC).
